Activities Update from AD Brad Bendix

Greetings WLA Family, 

Two important meetings centering around WIAA sports took place today. 

• The WIAA Board of Control met this morning and set the beginning and end dates for the fall (2 options), winter, and spring sports seasons. 
• The Flyway Superintendents, Principals, and Athletic Directors met this afternoon to determine which course we will take as a conference. As with many big decisions, there were multiple viewpoints expressed. After a vote of the Flyway superintendents, it was decided that Cross Country will begin on August 17th. Decisions on Football, Volleyball and Boys Soccer will be made in the coming weeks as school leaders first focus on a successful start to the school year and continue to monitor the health of their communities. 

I will be sending out a presentation for Parents and Athletes to watch next week that will help you get ready for the 2020-2021 year in sports. We appreciate your support and patience as we work toward providing athletics and activities for our students.
